The Animal Rescue Foundation Of Calgary Has No Permanent Shelter.

The Animal Rescue Foundation of Calgary does not have a permanent shelter.

Rather it places rescued animals in foster homes.

The foster ‘parents’ provide a temporary home for the rescued animal while ARF works on finding an adoptive home.

There is an ongoing need for foster homes to meet this need.

Those offering to be a foster parent may email fostering.dogs@arf.ab.ca or fostering.cats@arf.ab.ca.

Volunteers are key to the success of the Organization.

Volunteers are asked to commit to the position of 6-12 months.

Most volunteers help on a weekly time schedule.

If a volunteer can’t make a particular time, a substitute volunteer can be arranged.

Some of the volunteer positions open are 'foster parents' adoption line screeners, dog sitters, follow-up caller, volunteer driver, food & supplies coordinator and fundraising coordinator.

If you love animals and would like to volunteer, contact the Animal Rescue Foundation to inquire about what area you may be able to volunteer for.

It is rewarding for both you and the animals, especially if you are able to foster a pet waiting for adoption.

There are many expenses, especially veterinary care.

ARF is a registered charity (#89980-5956), and donations are greatly needed.

Any donation of $20 or more can receive a tax receipt.

Give some thought to donating to help with expenses.

Every little bit counts.

In addition, there is an ongoing need for donated items such as dog & cat beds, scratching posts, puppy pens, cat litter, cat boxes, dog and cat food and treats, a digital camera, dog houses, blankets and towels.

If you have any of these items and don't need them, the Animal Rescue Foundation will greatly appreciate having them.

Pickups can be arranged by calling 243-1910.

Donations can be mailed to:

Animal Rescue Foundation P.O. Box 34160 Calgary, Alberta T3C 152
