They offer a wide variety of services, care-giving programs for the elderly are available as well as help for those that are disabled or just temporarily ill.

Calgary Family Services also provide assistance during times of crisis like death or other family emergencies.

Counseling services are also available for those in need of assistance with personal problems and family counseling services for those who need help in dealing with problems on a family level.

Calgary Family Services also have group sessions on a variety of topics and are involved in a number of schools.

The Metis Family Services Society is a non-profit organization that takes a cultural approach to assisting Aboriginal Families and Communities.

The objective is to provide a balanced holistic spectrum of services for the healthy development of native children and their families.

Some of the services are designed to locate the health and development needs of native and other at risk children and then develop programs that help to promote the health and development of these individuals.

To provide a range of prevention and intervention programs for native and at risk children and families.

To host workshops, training resources and other programs to help with child development, abuse and parenting as well as conduct research into social issues in order to better help children who are of native blood or who are at risk.



Calgary and Area – Child and Family Services Authority is an organization designed to promote the well-being of children and their families by offering a variety of services.

These services include aboriginal, adoption, child intervention, and childcare, programs for the prevention of violence, foster care, and family support for those families that have disabled children as well as providing a multitude of other resources.

The adoption services are available to families where a child was remanded to the permanent custody of Children’s services.

These services include Aboriginal, foster to adopt, along with birth parent services. 

Child intervention services for those children who are at risk for abuse and neglect, childcare for work parents, shelters for those leaving in an abusive environment, foster care for children whose families can not meet their needs or where the environment is not conducive to natural growth so they can have a good temporary safe home.

Family support for Children with disabilities is a program designed to assist families in being able to care for disabled children within the home by providing family support, child focused and community based services.
