Calgary Minor Soccer Is No Longer Played Only In The Summer.

The Calgary Minor Soccer Association now encompasses at least 52 teams and it continues to gain more momentum every year.

The reason is partly because it is relatively inexpensive to participate, which makes it available to a much larger number of children than some other sports.

And although soccer has long been seen as a European sport, I believe that the tremendous influx of immigrants has created a demand that just was not there a couple of decades ago.

There is no doubt that the construction of world-class indoor facilities has been a huge factor in the acceptance of the sport here in Calgary where kids can now play all year long even if the temperature drops well below freezing.

I have made mention of the huge Calgary Soccer Centre in South East Calgary that holds 4 large fields in the main building alone and an additional 3 fields in the “Side Bubble”,along with some practise fields.

Now there is an additional facility located at 11014 Bearspaw Dam Road NW that holds 4 large fields.
