Calgary Parking Authority Striving To Provide Excellence In Municipal Parking Services In Calgary.
The motto of the Calgary Parking Authority is:
Striving to provide excellence in Municipal Parking Services in Calgary.
It may not seem like the Calgary Parking Authority is a very important aspect of the life in Calgary at all, but have you ever been on vacation to or (goodness forbid) moved to a place where there was no type of parking authority in place?
Things were probably very hectic there, with no organized parking system and seemingly a great deal more cars than spots.
This is the main reason for the existence of the Calgary Parking Authority.
There is a parking enforcement program in place in order to make sure that no matter how many cars are on the road and no matter how many of these cars need parking spaces, everybody can manage to still get around in an orderly fashion.
The Calgary Parking Authority enforcement program only works under the pretense that everybody is in compliance with the various statutes set in place and that everyone will learn to work around and with the laws that have been set in place.
For those who do not manage to follow the rules and laws of the Calgary Parking Enforcement agency, there will be citations issued and some cars are even towed after repeated unanswered violations.
There is always a better way to do things and this Press release signifies the progressive attitude of the Calgary Parking Authority:

Now the system has been tested over the very cold Calgary winter and it passed. Meanwhile there are some more tests going on, but it already has been protected by copyright and many cities from around the globe are knocking on the door to find out how to get their own system.
Here is an explanation of this new initiative by
a direct quote from the Parking authority;s website:
What is a Pay and Display Machine?
Pay and Display machines are multi-space parking pay machines. They are an alternative to a parking meter. The name describes the machine - when you park you pay at the machine with credit card or coin, take the receipt issued and display it on your vehicle dash.
There are plenty of ways to pay a ticket if you do happen to be issued a ticket by Calgary Parking Enforcement.
You can make your payment at a local bank, mail in a check or money order, or even walk up to the City of Calgary Cashier's office at the Municipal Building and pay the fine yourself, or head on over to the Calgary Paring Authority Head Office or even a night depository box if it is after hours.
There is more than one way to make your payment, so if you end up with a late fee or even a towing notice for your vehicle because you failed to do so, there are little to no excuses to be had.
If you don't think that you are liable for the ticket that you have received, there are steps to be taken but in most cases parking tickets are issued to the name of the person whose name is on the vehicle registration.
Obviously, when parking tickets are issued the driver of the car is usually unavailable and as such, there is no other way to issue the ticket to the right person if the owner of the vehicle is not responsible.
There is even an option to attend court and fight the ticket, although that incurs additional costs in the case that you do not win, and that can even put a hold on vehicle registration.
