The Calgary Tower Stands Proudly In The Centre Of Calgary.

The Calgary Tower is one of about a dozen notable tall structures around the globe, and the Calgay Tower is something you just can not ignore when you get to Calgary.

The construction of the HUSKY TOWER began in 1968 and when they started to pour the concrete, the process lasted 24 days non stop, using a new method at that time.

The tower will withstand winds up to 161 km per hour.

The Tower was re-named about 3 years later and became the

CALGARY TOWER.

The latest innovation was added in 2005 and consists of a 4 x 36 foot glass floor, which makes you feel as if you are suspended at 525 feet above the ground.

Wow, what a weird feeling!

Not everyone can muster up the courage to try that, even though the floor can carry the weight of a couple of hippos.

A couple of high speed elevators will take you to the observation deck of the Calgary Tower where you can get a 360 degree look at the city below and the country site around it.

Of course you brought your camera, but if you forgot your binoculars, you'll find several strategically located on the observation deck.

And I am sure that you will enjoy The Spirit of Calgary Boutique with it's wonderful collection of keepsakes and collectibles.

Be sure to visit the Panorama Dining Room that revolves completely around the tower once every hour while you enjoy your lunch or dinner.

It's quite an experience to view the whole city in this way, belief me.

But if time is a factor, grab a bite in Tops Grill on the Observation deck instead.

Considering that there are very few of these tall structures around the world, you want to make sure you take this in while you are in Calgary.

Thank you for visiting and please return often to see the updated version of this site, because we make changes and additions on an ongoing basis.
