This team has been in the playoffs a number of times and in 2004 gained the coveted Champion's cup,and now in 2009 for the second time in franchise history the Calgary Roughnecks captured the Champion's Cup, this time with a 12-10 win over the New York Titans.

Getting away from conglomerate ownership, the Calgary Roughnecks are privately owned by a businessman in Okotoks.

With an ever-improving lineup and an already illustrious history, the Calgary Roughnecks offer excitement to any lacrosse fan.

Lacrosse represents Year-Round Fun!

One thing that you can rely on is that Calgary's citizens love lacrosse.

In fact, the town's enchantment with the sport is so strong that the sport is played literally year round.

First there is the normal summer season, and this is followed by the Calgary Winter Lacrosse League.

In the Calgary Winter Lacrosse League, you'll find that the rules are essentially the same as they are for Indoor Box Lacrosse, just with no penalties.

With more opportunities for high-scoring games, winter lacrosse is a terrific way to spend the Calgary winter.
