Public Education Is Priceless

Public education may be a further requirement for yourself, your partner or your children as a newcomer to the Calgary area.

So you’ll find this page of interest as a general overview the Public eduction system with direct links to the most prominent institutions.

We already supplied you with LINKS to the many communities and the various services you’ll find in each of them, and most importantly, all the schools are listed for each community.

However the Public education system is under tremendous pressure due to the enormous growth of the city, which means that there is no available space in the school in the community of your choice,resulting in bussing some students to another school.

For that reason you should be able to access the appropriate school board.

First there is the Calgary Board of Education to check out.

Or you may need to look at the

Calgary Catholic Separate School Board


Then there are Private Schools, Charter Schools and Academies you may wish to consider.

The basics are mentioned above, and for all the various other institutions you may want to have information about, you can check the Yellow Pages on line or in your Library.

Now add to this Secondary Education, Colleges and Universities and you are going to do a lot of reading.

There are some that you’ll want to know about, such as:

1) Mount Royal University

2) Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT)

3) Alberta College Of Arts and Design

4) University of Calgary

5) St Mary’s University College
