THE STAMPEDE




That's short for Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, and is without a doubt the biggest event of the year in Calgary and the next one will be from July 9th to the 18th in 2010.

For those of you who are new around here, as well as those who expect to be here in July, may I suggest you head on over to this web site and start planning your days and make the necessary reservations now.

There will be Pow Wow Dancers on the Stampede Grounds in the Indian Village and there will be Square dancing all over the city, usually at all the Stampede Caravan Breakfasts.

There is no way that you can take in all the activity in one day. Partly because there are different events each and every day,

Also, in the case of the rodeo events and chuck wagon racing events the championships are based on daily results achieved that add up and culminate into the finals that determine the best of the bunch.

Having said that, let me assure you that each day’s events are extremely exciting to watch and will leave you with considerable respect for these athletes who prefer to be called cowboys.

There are shows and exhibitions all over the sprawling grounds to suit everyone from youngsters to seniors, and the free entertainment events spill outside the Park with mini parades and FREE Pancake Breakfasts all around the city.

It’ a great time to be in Calgary and everyone gets into the spirit by dressing western.

By the way, Calgary has many other festivities happening throughout the entire year.
