Winsport Canada is headquartered in Calgary,Alberta at COP.
Winsport Canada which was originally known as Calgary Olympic Development Association (CODA),
supports national sport organizations, encourages educational opportunities, and subsidizes the
operation of unique training and recreational facilities used by the nation's top athletes and the general public.

It already has completed and is operating world class training facilities in Western Canada
and this new structure is under construction at COP in Calgary right now, and it will include
a 5 Story Administration office
and a 500,000 square foot Athletic and Ice Complex!
Oh Yes! Calgary will be THE place for all winter sport enthusiasts, both amateurs and professionals.
It will be the envy of the winter sport universe!!
It will be the future home of Hockey Canada, Skate Canada, WinSport and the
head offices of close to 20 national and provincial winter sport organizations.
We will see the following included:
One 3,000 seat international ice surface
Three North American ice surfaces with 400 spectator seats each
Public fitness and training centre;
Five-story office tower
Conference and meeting centre
Concession area
Outdoor Victory Plaza – approximately one acre of open space for celebrations and gatherings
We already have some fabulous facilities, such as
Olympic Hall of Fame & Museum
that now draw more tourists to Alberta than any other venue!
Spray Athletic Village located west of Calgary and Close to the
Canmore Nordic Center
as well as
The Olympic Oval
which is known as the fastest ice in the world and was the first covered speed skating oval in
North America and played host to short and long track events during the 1988 Winter Olympic Games.
The Oval is comprised of three ice surfaces - one 400m oval ice for long track speed skating and two international size rinks for hockey and short track. Winsport Canada continues to financially support the facility as part of the continuing legacy of the ’88 Games
A unique partnership between Winsport Canada, Vancouver 2010 and philanthropists, Don and Shirley Green of Brockville, Ontario was formed, enabling Winsport to launch and operate the $2 million world-leading summer glacier training centre known as
Camp Green on Farnham Glacier.
Then there is the
Ice House
the indoor push-start facility for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton was constructed in 2001 at a cost of CDN $4.1 million and is the first facility among those at the Centre of Spot Excellence.
There are also several TRAINING CENTERS such as:
a) Bill Warren Training Centre
b) Haig Glacier/Beckie Scott High-Performance Training Centre
c) Bob Niven Training Centre
And finally there now is the
National Sport School
a Winsport and Calgary Board of Education initiative.
