Statistics Canada (StatsCan) reported that 13000 workers moved from the Maritimes alone to Alberta in the last 12 months.

The pressure to bring sufficient housing on line continues to build and we are no longer talking about affordability but instead it has now become a question of availability.

The latest information about apartment rental reveals that the vacancy rate in Calgary has dropped to just 0.5%, which is the lowest it has ever been and it is also the lowest rate in all of Canada.

That's why I started this page by telling you to expect a long and difficult search, so please allow yourself lots of lead time before you move here.

While you are dealing with tremendous competition when you are looking for any kind of accommodation, you must also face the fact that Calgary has now become the most expensive place in Canada to buy or rent.
