CrossIron Mills changes your shopping experience forever!

CrossIron Mills opened in Calgary August 19th-2009.

Actually it is just north of the City of Calgary in the County of Rockyview, only 7 Kilometers north of the airport, just east of Balzac.

It is not only the latest, but it is actually the first enclosed mall to be built in all of Alberta in 20 years.

CrossIron Mills shopping center is a lot more than the average “shopping mall”.

The interior of the shopping center is 2.7 km in circumference, while the total development area takes up 700 acres!

CrossIron Mills includes 17 large-format anchor stores, more than 20 new stores to Alberta, and over 200 brand name and premium outlet stores.

The official opening was in August 2009 and was anxiously awaited by the folks in and around Calgary.

Now Cineplex Entertainment will further enhance this fantastic development by adding a Silver City Theatre complex to be completed by the summer of 2010.

CrossIron Mills makes up about 50% of what is a $1 Billion total development project that will include a world class racing and entertainment facility.

The United Horsemen of Alberta are building this racing center that will seamlessly integrate state-of-the-art racing and gaming, dining and entertainment venues, and promises to draw enthusiasts from far and wide.

The racing center will be linked on the west to the CrossIron Mills Super Regional Shopping Center, while lands to the south of the Paddock arena will feature a 3,000 seat theatre.

Considering this and the $1 Billion EnCana office tower ( THE BOW ) under construction downtown, the enormous expansion of ring roads and the relentless extensions to the LRT (Light Rail Transit) system, it’s no wonder that Calgary continues to draw people from across Canada and from around the world.
