And because lake communities represent only a small number of the more than 220 or so uniquely different Calgary communities,they are well worth your consideration.
There are some special benefits you get such as

Beaches,
Swimming areas,
Volley ball courts,
Picnic areas,
Free useage of Paddle boats, canoes etc.
Fishing in the well-stocked lake,
Skating on the lake,

Of course the Lake communities, both north and south, do not have the mega malls and that means
fighting the traffic and finding a parking spot and fighting the crowds to do your shopping.
