These are places that you can get to within a matter of a couple of hours more or less.
One of these treasured places is a
conservation area
of some 4800 acres and is located just south west of the city.
This beautiful area was set aside by Ann and Sandy Cross and is named after them of course.
These wonderful people have so generously and with great foresight dedicated these acres to be preserved and to be used for the education and enjoyment of generations to come.
This area is exclusively for day time use and can be visited by appointment only.
In this way everyone is assured of the protection of it's wildlife, as well as the preservation of it's natural beauty as seen in the Eco system's trees, plants and grasses.
And speaking of places that are well worth visiting, let me introduce you to one of my favorite spots located just a 30 minute drive south east of Calgary named
Wyndham-Carseland Provincial Park
Here you can have a wonderful day , having a picnic or you can bring your camper, motor home or tent and set up for a few days if you wish at a very reasonable cost.
Then in 2003 something interesting started across the river from this wonderful place.
A place called
“Speargrass”
began to develop and it turns out to be another one of those fabulous golf course developments we see all around us.
Naturally you sense by now that “Mother Nature” interests me and I can recall visits to places across Canada that my family and I have visited long before they were declared National and/or Provincial Parks.
So as time goes on I'll be bringing other locations to your attention.
Until then here's a
site
that will give you a great deal of valuable information.
As always, if you have a special request or need some specific information, just fill in the box below.
Finally, in todays economic circumstances, many people are interested in making some extra money online, and if that appeals to you I suggest that you
check out this link.
I thank you for visiting and I suggest you return often to see the updated version of this site, because we make changes and additions on an ongoing basis.
